Injector Fault warning light dash but clears

Postby DuncanStewart » Sun Dec 19, 2010 12:09 pm

Hi every one, first off what a great site. Need some help have a 2006 110 turbo 74,000 miles. Dash warning light comes on "Injection Fault" and stays on, however stop car switch ignition off and back on fault clears.

It happens when you rev/load car past 3000 rpm, drive below that fault does not appear. When fault is on runs rough and holds back on power but not loud noise that you normally get with a sticky open injector. Any ideas please, just going to check seals now.

You could also check the intercooler pipes if they are not leaking. When i had my IC in two parts, and so drove without any turbo, it behaved the same.

there is honestly so many things it could be, ideally you need to get it on a renault diagnostics machine.

it could be anything to do with the fuel system / injection process, so fuel pump, injectors, fuel filter, plugs, boost leak etc etc

Hi there,

I am having exactly the same fault with my Clio 1.5 (106).
Did you have any luck finding what the problem was, i have taken it to the local garage, and a main dealer.

The diagnostic was coming up Fuel Pressure Regulation Fault, however none of them was able to give a confident accurate solution to fix it.
Renault just suggested fitting a new fuel pump which will cost in excess of £500, with no guarantee this will fix the problem.

Could anyone suggest anything, esp. the OP who has (hopefully) had his fixed now??

Thanks.

i had the fuel pressure regulator problem on a mk2... Renault said needs pump a friend of mine said no it just needs a regulator... hard thing was, renault changed the wiring to it so if i wanted one i need wiring loom to it plus the regulator which was silly money! so i rung round scrappers and non would take it off a pump because then the pump would be harder to sell and they wanted silly money for a pump (which would need coding to the car... by renault) soo last resort was i took the part off got the part number and typed it into ebay and found same part advertised on its own from a nissan. Bought it and that cured it! SAVED 100's!!
